The Hub Prize 2012

Presented by The Hub Magazine, The Hub Prize celebrates the many ways in which retailers, brand marketers, agencies, design firms, technology companies, research firms, consultants and others make the retail experience excellent for customers, both online and in-store. By recognizing outstanding performance across every kind of retail, The Hub Prize competition promotes innovation and excellence in the shopping experience.

Last year’s victors included Procter & Gamble, Disney, Starbucks, Safeway, Walmart, Walgreens, Coca-Cola, 7-Eleven, CVS, McDonald’s, Domino’s Pizza, Kraft Foods, Kimberly-Clark and ConAgra, among others. Winners ranged from new products to shopper marketing campaigns to apps to new retail concepts and more, across every type of retail.  The Hub Prize is a great way to get the recognition you and your team deserve for making the retail experience better for shoppers. How to Enter. Between June 1 and July 31 2012, candidates can enter The Hub Prize competition online for any type of excellent retail experience, at any budget level:

Judging. An independent panel of leading academics and other experts will select a total of 36 The Hub Prize contenders: 12 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze. Our panel will also select one entry to receive the Ultimate Hub Prize as the “best of show.”

Criteria. Entries will be evaluated based on brief answers to these questions:

1. What was the problem/challenge/opportunity?

2. What was your solution?

3. How did your solution improve the retail experience?

4. Was there a particular insight and corresponding emotional connection?

5. What made the solution innovative?

6. What were the results (financially or otherwise)?

7. Why does your initiative deserve to win The Hub Prize?

Supporting materials may include video, audio or images.

Eligibility. The retail experience must have been active sometime between January 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012. International entries are welcome!

Recognition. All 36 Hub Prize winners will be featured in The Hub Magazine’s November 2012 edition.

Prizes. The 36 Hub Prize winners will each receive a very special medallion designed by the legendary John S. Dykes. One “Ultimate Hub Prize” winner will claim the coveted Hub Cup.

Notification. Winners will be notified in September 2012.

Terms & Conditions. The intellectual property rights of your entry remains yours, however The Hub Magazine is free to publish all submitted materials in whole or in part, in print and electronically, in perpetuity, without payment of any kind. The Hub is not responsible for errors or omissions, but will make every effort to ensure your entry is presented accurately. The responsibility to obtain necessary approvals to enter this competition is yours.

Fees. The fee per entry is $299 for Hub “Brain Trust” and members and $349 for all non-members. Payment is by credit card only (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).
