In general, how did you feel about Starbucks five years ago?

1. 8/14/2008 6:45:00 AM Good coffee, nice hang out.
2. 8/14/2008 7:57:00 AM I wasn't really engaging with Starbucks 5 years ago. Very occasional user...only when I travelled, really. I'm not a daily coffee drinker...
3. 8/14/2008 10:22:00 AM Loved the experience but found it fundamentally wrong to pay $2 for a cup of coffee
4. 8/14/2008 11:36:00 AM It has evolved nocely
5. 8/14/2008 11:47:00 AM Kitschy, new, different
6. 8/14/2008 11:51:00 AM See above for why I went from 'love' to 'like'.
7. 8/14/2008 12:01:00 PM Nothing has changed except when I see the product for sale at Krogers' I feel it somehow has been devalued and is less special.
8. 8/14/2008 12:24:00 PM Loved the concept of the coffee house (I'm from Europe and the whole restaurant thing is different than here.) Starbucks gave you a place to stop & relax. Never liked the double this and grande that... the four adjectives required to order a simple cup of coffee.
9. 8/14/2008 12:44:00 PM It was more of a novelty back then.
10. 8/14/2008 12:55:00 PM I felt special when I went into Starbucks, in the same way that it felt to walk into a great boutique.
11. 8/14/2008 1:24:00 PM As with all things, the shine comes off after they've been around a while...no big surprise.
12. 8/14/2008 1:25:00 PM Elite. A treat
13. 8/14/2008 1:28:00 PM Consistant
14. 8/14/2008 1:30:00 PM It was more of a speciality five years ago, now its everywhere.
15. 8/14/2008 1:35:00 PM I lived somewhere else w/better coffee, so I didn't go to Starbucks
16. 8/14/2008 1:57:00 PM Has it become so much a part of our daily routine that the consistent delivery of the Starbucks' brand experience has become routine itself, instead of remarkable? Has its cool factor become a commodity?
17. 8/14/2008 2:00:00 PM Great coffee (strong and bitter, that's my style!), great atmosphere, baristas and counter crew friendly and helpful (it was actually fun to go there), lots of choices
18. 8/14/2008 2:17:00 PM My views and opinions of an overpriced product rarely change.
19. 8/14/2008 2:38:00 PM Liked it, thought it was an interesting concept with a great warm and welcom cafe feel, so the occasional times I went, I did not mind so much the up charge, but in this tough time, it annoys me that they are gauging for a simple cup of coffee
20. 8/14/2008 2:43:00 PM It was "special." Now it is quite boring.
21. 8/14/2008 2:48:00 PM thought it was an odd retail phenonmenon - it amused me to see folks stand in long lines in the morning, as if the baristas were priests serving holy communion
22. 8/14/2008 2:58:00 PM Same as above
23. 8/14/2008 2:59:00 PM It was the best coffee in town. I actually think Seattle's Best is a little smoother now.
24. 8/14/2008 3:28:00 PM It was something new
25. 8/14/2008 3:32:00 PM didn't like their image, their "burgerking" ਀ഊatmosphere, now i just accept it for what it ਀ഊis because there are other more unique ਀ഊindependent coffee houses around if I really ਀ഊwant a good coffee with nice atmosphere.
26. 8/14/2008 3:35:00 PM Five years ago I really loved the energy of any starbucks location.
27. 8/14/2008 3:44:00 PM Same as above--I've never liked their coffee as much as that of other coffee shops--Starbucks tends to burn their beans. Plus, it has gotten to the point that many people don't go there for the coffee (which is perhaps why burnt beans don't really matter to Starbucks), but for the image of being seen there or saying they go there or holding that cup with the distinctive logo as they walk into work
28. 8/14/2008 4:12:00 PM I was borderline "loved it" but not for the coffee. I was collecting the mugs when I visited a city. I also really liked the opportunity to meet informally with clients and friends.
29. 8/14/2008 4:19:00 PM About the same as I do now.
30. 8/14/2008 4:28:00 PM i was a snob
31. 8/14/2008 4:51:00 PM LIVED for it!
32. 8/14/2008 5:05:00 PM without much competition 5 years ago they seemed much cooler
33. 8/14/2008 5:42:00 PM People are not as friendly as they used to be, they sometimes give you a number instead of your name, I don't like that
34. 8/14/2008 6:51:00 PM Loved Starbucks 15 years ago, and it jumped the shark 12 years ago, now it's just convenient and reliable.
35. 8/14/2008 8:00:00 PM Even more!
36. 8/14/2008 9:10:00 PM I thought it was a great company, with great cafes, coffee and products and frequented several in our area.
37. 8/18/2008 2:28:00 PM It used t be new and exciting Now, it's older, overbuilt and quality has slipped.
38. 8/18/2008 3:25:00 PM Loved it
39. 8/18/2008 8:16:00 PM didn't hate it...but didn't like it...liked it better once i was better informed on the co values
