I live in Manhattan, so it's expected to see one every few blocks |

If they can make the business model work, who am i to judge? There is one or two stand alone stores, and they have mini-locations inside a local grocery chain, and the local Super Target... |

The answer depends on what you want out of Starbucks. If you want ambiance, there are probably too many SBUX. If you want convenience of meeting place, it isn't enough. |

Populatio could support more, however, competitors have moved in |

The overkill, such that it is, seems to occur in teh "big" cities, where in NYC I've seen them 1 / block. . . there is no sense of it being "special" then. No different than McDonalds |

Don't have one, don't want one. |
| 10. |
8/14/2008 12:35:00 PM |
Don't care |

They are well placed on high traffic routes. |

I live in a small town and it is the only one around. I might visit it more if it were on my route to work. |
| 13. |
8/14/2008 12:44:00 PM |
About right for a small city. |
| 14. |
8/14/2008 12:52:00 PM |
Convenience of locations wherever my business/errands take me is a strong LIKE. |
| 15. |
8/14/2008 12:55:00 PM |
The local chain Caribou kicks there butt! |
| 16. |
8/14/2008 1:21:00 PM |
they outnumber McDonalds and all fast foods combined (minus Subway) |
| 17. |
8/14/2008 1:22:00 PM |
On different sides of town. |
| 18. |
8/14/2008 1:24:00 PM |
I'm actually surprised there aren't more in the fairly affluent area. |

Small town (Northfield, Vermont) with 4,500 pop. We don't have a Starbucks although we could support a kiosk at Norwich University (enrollment of 2,000). |

There is no Starbucks in my neighborhood. There are two nice drive through coffee shops in my neighborhood and a privately lowned breakfast cafe with good coffees. |
| 21. |
8/14/2008 1:40:00 PM |
Took over the space of our favorite pub - therefore have boycotted that Starbucks and will walk an additional 6 blocks for an ice tea. |
| 22. |
8/14/2008 1:56:00 PM |
next town over...30 miles |
| 23. |
8/14/2008 1:57:00 PM |
I have 4 locations within 200 yards in each direction of the major intersection I live close to. Seems excessive, yet they are all busy. There are other neighborhoods in Toronto with what seem to be extreme numbers of locations. |

Please send one of the 600 closing stores to Westerly RI! |

In addition to a couple of Coffee Bean stores and a Peets, as well as many independents and diners - who needs so many? |
| 26. |
8/14/2008 2:48:00 PM |
we have plenty of local coffee shops, each with their own distinct personality, flavor and mix of loyalists. we don't need starbucks |
| 27. |
8/14/2008 2:58:00 PM |
Zero would be a good number. |
| 28. |
8/14/2008 3:32:00 PM |
too few by one. i need one with a drive through on the "right hand side" |
| 29. |
8/14/2008 3:46:00 PM |
Don't care for grocery store S-Bucks; prefer stand alone. |
| 30. |
8/14/2008 4:02:00 PM |
Convenient. One is in target and one is in Barnes & Noble. Not freestanding. So I only go when I am shopping in one of those stores. Saves me a lot of dough. |
| 31. |
8/14/2008 4:51:00 PM |
one would be ok, especially if it were drive through |
| 32. |
8/14/2008 4:53:00 PM |
The pop of our town is less than 25,000! |
| 33. |
8/14/2008 7:13:00 PM |
One is good. We have a great local coffee shop as well. |
| 34. |
8/14/2008 8:15:00 PM |
Surprizingly even though it is a lot, I would hate to wait in drive thru so I say dont close! |
| 35. |
8/14/2008 10:10:00 PM |
There are none. |
| 36. |
8/14/2008 10:11:00 PM |
I use the word neighborhood loosely. Not one of them is close enough to walk to. |
| 37. |
8/14/2008 11:50:00 PM |
They have as many as 5 within a half mile, one stand alone and 4 in bookstores and supermarkets |
| 38. |
8/15/2008 8:35:00 AM |
But in Canary Wharf, which is close by to where I live there seem to be too many; I believe there is at least 4 all withinn walking distance! |
| 39. |
8/15/2008 4:54:00 PM |
The three are in different directions, so very convenient, depending on where I'm going that day. |
| 40. |
8/16/2008 12:04:00 AM |
There's usually a wait. But, I think their preparation/service is inefficient. |
| 41. |
8/18/2008 3:25:00 PM |
About right |
| 42. |
8/18/2008 3:50:00 PM |
With no major city near me in a town of twenty five thousand and six Starbucks? |
